It's the Central Highlands' turn to be 'hot' with Haha Family

ZNews - After an emotional third stop in Giồng Trôm, Vĩnh Long, the members of “Gia Dinh Haha” continued spreading the beauty of ethnic culture and community tourism in Đắk Lắk.

Leaving Giồng Trôm, Vĩnh Long (formerly part of Bến Tre Province), the reality show traveled to Đắk Liêng Commune (Đắk Lắk Province), home to the M’nông and Êđê ethnic groups, elephants the cultural symbol of the Central Highlands and vast farm lands awaiting them.

In this new journey, the cast along with guest stars Tóc Tiên and (S)TRONG (Trọng Hiếu) stayed in traditional stilt houses, lived side by side with ethnic communities, and immersed themselves in local culture by working on coffee and avocado farms.

In March, the Knowledge of Cultivating and Processing Đắk Lắk Coffee was added to Vietnam’s National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the category of folk knowledge. Coffee farming is also a key livelihood for the people of Đắk Lắk.

The trailer released on August 29 opened with fresh, breathtaking scenes of Đắk Liêng: sparkling freshwater lakes, endless mountain ranges, and villagers riding elephants leisurely along the road. Singer Bùi Công Nam confessed that even though this is his hometown, he was still amazed by the crystal-clear streams and the majestic elephants that could turn and follow human guidance.

The Allure of Đắk Liêng

Đắk Liêng is a fertile land surrounded by the Krông Ana River and part of the legendary Lắk Lake. After a recent merger, the commune now combines Buôn Triết, Buôn Tría, and the former Đắk Liêng, covering 135.55 square kilometers, with 38 villages and a population of 22,881.

Beyond its pristine nature, the commune attracts visitors with unique destinations such as the ancient M’Liêng village, which preserves both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, as well as Đắk Pok stream, Đắk Phơi rocky stream, and Chư Yang Sin National Park. It is also an ideal place to develop Central Highlands tourism and experiences tied to the gong culture.

Đắk Liêng has strong advantages in agriculture, with over 11,000 hectares of rice and coffee farms. In addition to coffee, it is home to three large rice granaries along Provincial Road 7. The lush green rice fields shown in the trailer symbolize both livelihood and the richness of the land.

In the first half of the year, Đắk Lắk Province (before the merger) welcomed about 3.8 million visitors, up 41.89% compared to the same period in 2024, including 58,300 international tourists. Total tourism revenue was estimated at 6,965 billion VND, a 58.66% increase from the previous year.

Before Đắk Lắk, the third stop in Giồng Trôm, Vĩnh Long (formerly Bến Tre Province) left a strong impression with the simplicity of Mekong Delta life. Scenes of early morning markets, family meals, boat rides, and coconut picking charmed audiences. As a result, community homestays and tours to Uncle Chín Cường’s house were fully booked through September and October. Some OCOP products that once sold slowly are now in such high demand that customers must pre-order because production cannot keep up.

The second stop in Lý Sơn and Sa Huỳnh (Quảng Ngãi) also boosted the reputation of garlic and flower salt products. The first stop in Bản Liền (Lào Cai) helped community tourism there take off. The program has also received commendations from Lào Cai Province and Bản Liền Commune for its contributions to promoting tourism and culture.
