Viet Bao Newspaper - After more than three months on air, “Gia Dinh Haha” has gone beyond the framework of a reality show, bringing great value to the lands it passed through.

“After more than three months on air, the reality show “Gia Dinh Haha” closed Season 1 with Episode 15, broadcast on the evening of 21 September 2025. The final chapter, “The Journey in Dak Lak”, ended the first season with deep emotions in the hearts of the audience.”

A Small Family Closes, A Big Family Opens

Starting in Ban Lien (Lao Cai), passing through Ly Son and Sa Huynh (Quang Ngai), the water ways of the Mekong Delta, and ending in the majestic Central Highlands, “Gia Dinh Haha” painted a vivid picture of Vietnam. Each land was a unique color, each person a beautiful story, told with sincerity and affection.

From Ms. Thong - the homestay owner in Ban Lien, to Uncle Diep in Sa Huynh, to Uncle and Aunt Chin in Ben Tre… these simple people became “family” to the members. Bonds grew from small moments like cooking together, talking, caring for one another… only to part with heart felt tears.

Emotional moments from the final chapter of “Gia Dinh Haha”.

In Episode 15 - the final chapter in the Central Highlands - all these threads of affection gathered, bringing the members back to the starting point that is also the destination of every journey: family love.

There, Bui Cong Nam celebrated his birthday in the arms of his family for the first time in many years of pursuing his dreams. The moment he taught (S)TRONG how Vietnamese express love to parents with a warm “kiss on the cheek”, followed by (S)TRONG’s words, “There is nothing more precious than being with family”, encapsulated the spirit of the journey.

Looking back, Duy Khanh described Ban Lien as “enjoyment”, Quang Ngai as “limits”, Ben Tre as “family” and Dak Lak as “gratitude”. “The program is like an open diary for everyone to witness our journey of growth,” he shared.

Jun Pham added: “The journey of "Gia Dinh Haha" went through four regions, each with its own uniqueness. There, Mr. Ha and Ms. Thong were like in-laws; Mr. Son, Mr. Diep, and Ms. Tham were like siblings; Uncle and Aunt Chin were like parents; and Y Xim was like a younger brother.”

More Than a Healing Show

Beyond the love from strangers, “Gia Dinh Haha” delivered something greater and more meaningful than a reality show. On each journey, the program left gifts of value, such as 500 pine trees planted to restore land after Typhoon Yagi in Ban Lien.

Most recently, on 13 September 2025, the “Experience Tourism and Volunteer Activity to Plant Luc Truc Bamboo and Trung Khanh Chestnut” under the campaign “Gia Dinh Haha” -  For a Happy Vietnam took place in Ban Lien, Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province.

At this event, more than 14,000 Luc Truc bamboo trees and 2,500 Trung Khanh chestnut trees were planted, helping to reforest bare hills, protect water sources, and create sustainable livelihoods for local people.

Earlier, on August 8, over 20,000 Luc Truc bamboo trees and Trung Khanh chestnut seeds - another promising economic crop - had been planted by Jun Pham and locals in Ban Lien.

In Quang Ngai, “Gia Dinh Haha” left gifts such as picture frames and a swing to attract tourism at Sa Huynh Beach; in Ben Tre, 10 solar-powered lamps now light up village roads.

“Gia Dinh Haha” also organized a special animated film screening for children.

With its Elephant Protection Project, “Gia Dinh Haha” screened an animated film for local children, carrying the message of conserving elephants both beloved in the Central Highlands and precious to global wildlife.

More than that, the program delivered practical, meaningful values. It offered new perspectives that promoted tourism, helping audiences understand Vietnam’s many regions.

For example, after the journey in Ban Lien (Lao Cai), the simple and warm hospitality of Ms. Thong and her husband quickly attracted tourists.

At the time, Ms. Vang Thi Thong shared that since the program aired at the end of June, her homestay had been fully booked for July, with only a few available days in August and September. Many visitors came to experience the rustic, heartfelt life they saw on screen.

Authentic images that touched the audience.

One viewer commented: “The success of the program is not only in entertainment, but also in promoting nature, local culture, and improving community livelihoods.”

Sharing this perspective, a representative of "Gia Dinh Haha" said: “We produce reality shows not only for viewers to watch but for them to feel the connection and shared experiences between artists and locals.”

After 15 episodes, "Gia Dinh Haha" left behind not just laughter and tears, but also the belief that reality TV can still carry sustainable, kind, and love-filled values.

"Gia Dinh Haha" to Return with a Special Chapter

On the evening of September 21, the "Gia Dinh Haha" fanpage unexpectedly announced that the show will feature a special additional chapter as a thank-you to viewers.

This new chapter is titled Ban Lien: Ngay Tro Ve (Ban Lien: The Return), with the main cast members Jun Pham, Rhymastic, Bui Cong Nam, Duy Khanh, and Ngoc Thanh Tam. The members will return to Ban Lien - where the journey of "Gia Dinh Haha" began.

The announcement immediately drew attention, receiving thousands of shares in less than an hour. Many viewers expressed surprise, since just a day earlier, the show had officially announced its conclusion.
