Pursuit Performance 4: Nha Hop Luc travels back to the 90s to rediscover their parents' youth

Following Nha Benh Bong's performance in Episode 8, Nha Hop Luc (Leader Thai VG, Dinh Manh Ninh, Trinh Thang Binh, Nguyen Van Chung, Tung Mint) was the next to enter the Pursuit Round. In this round, the members of Nha Hop Luc took the audience back to the 1990s with a cheerful, retro style featuring fun and colorful character designs. Sharing more about the performance's message, Nguyen Van Chung said: "When we received this prompt with the sample line 'Nho khi xua la nhau' from a very famous song, I shared with the brothers that we should write about our parents' youth back in the day. We were once children, but we rarely think that our parents were also children once. That leads to the generational gap issue. So, let's try putting ourselves in our parents' shoes back then just as young as we are now, with dreams, love, and ambitions and we will love our parents even more."

For this Performance, Leader Thai VG wanted to create the most comfortable environment for the brothers to work together. This helped the members coordinate more seamlessly during the preparation process. Nguyen Van Chung shared that previously, when writing ballads, he often had to work alone, but upon entering the environment of Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai 2026, he found various diverse energies that made the working process much more enjoyable. He added: "This is probably the most fun and comfortable performance round for Chung. Initially, when placed in the team, I was a bit worried because rap is not my expertise. But I am very grateful to the brothers in the team for both teaching me the necessary things to contribute to the act and giving me the space to showcase my other skills."

Breaking free from his familiar ballad composer image, Anh Tai Nguyen Van Chung fully enjoyed the fun and comfort on stage.

Tung Mint stated that this performance marked a new breakthrough for Nha Hop Luc as Trinh Thang Binh and Dinh Manh Ninh tackled the Hip-hop genre a musical realm outside both of their comfort zones. This was an opportunity for 5 distinct personalities to intersect, creating a fresh and harmonious combination on stage.

A notable detail in Nha Hop Luc's performance this time was the participation and support of Thai Linh - Thai VG's daughter on stage. He shared that although it was his first time trying dancing, his daughter's appearance made him feel more comfortable and less pressured. He added: "Thai was surprised that his daughter was so confident. If it were me instead, I would definitely be trembling and probably wouldn't dare do it. Thai is very proud of his daughter."

Thai Linh's radiant and confident presence on stage not only made Anh Tai Thai VG incredibly proud but also helped dispel his pressure during his first attempt at choreography.

Pursuit Performance 5: Nha Ruc Ro explores a new perspective on the Vong xoay ngua go theme 

Through the imagery of a carousel and childhood memories, Nha Ruc Ro evoked the innocent, carefree years that everyone once had and always keeps as a beautiful part of their memories. However, the performance did not stop at mere childhood nostalgia; it chose a novel approach by placing the story in a fictional post-apocalyptic world. In that world, the image of people who still retain their innocence, purity, and "original heart" became a metaphor for vitality and the ability to overcome adversity. Even if the world changes, endures tragedies, or faces harsh upheavals, those who do not lose the purity within themselves can still survive and move forward.

Nha Ruc Ro scored points with their smart processing mindset, breathing new life into the Hip-hop arrangement.

During the making of the performance, Hoang Rob mentioned that choosing a hip-hop track for this Performance was an idea he loved, but it also made him anxious. For Tho Da LAB, hip-hop is a genre he has listened to and played since his early days, so being immersed in energetic hip-hop music once again brought him many emotions. However, he also viewed this as a challenge requiring every member to put in extra effort. The songwriting process involved all 5 members. During this time, Hoang Dung shared that he was constantly surprised by the sharpness of Tho Da LAB, Thanh Duy, and Will in writing lyrics. The post-apocalyptic setting built by Hoang Rob and Thanh Duy also provided a more creative exploration of the Vong xoay ngua go theme.

In this Pursuit Round, the members received help from Will for the choreography. The practice process took place enthusiastically with excellent coordination among the members.

After the performance concluded, Thanh Duy confided that he was very happy to work with brothers he hadn't had much chance to interact with before. To him, every puzzle piece in Nha Ruc Ro is distinct and shining, and it is precisely that difference that showcases the beauty of each person in how they make art.

Commenting on the opposing House's performance, Nguyen Van Chung praised: "This is a highly performance-oriented song that managed to portray all the best skills of each team member. You could say it achieved absolute artistic perfection on stage."

Pursuit Performance 6: Lost in a wonderland with Khap chon thien ha of Nha My Man.

As the final performing House in the Pursuit Round, Nha My Man led the audience into a fairy tale world with childhood associated gods, such as the Sun God with his triumph after tragedies, Cupid with romantic love, Aladdin in an adventure filled world, the God of the Sea with his bravery and majesty, and the "many eyed" God from mythological tales.

Wrapping up the Pursuit Round, Nha My Man took the audience into a magical fairy tale world by transforming into childhood gods.

Sharing the reason for choosing to cosplay as the Sun God this time, Thuan Nguyen emotionally said: "When I was little, I didn't want to be a superhero or watch a lot of cartoons. I had no desire to become any kind of hero. I just hoped to earn a lot of money to take care of my family. So I thought, to dispel the darkness of my past, I would choose the Sun God, a deity who brings light."

Taking on the role of lyricist for this song, OSAD expressed his desire to create lyrics that could relate to each member personally. Dong Hung praised OSAD's songwriting ability: "Right from the first performances, Hung knew OSAD was an incredibly smart guy. When he received this song and took on the lyric writing duty, upon hearing the demo, I had to go 'wow' in surprise."

While practicing the choreography, Dong Hung also shared: "Only by participating in the show do I get such novel experiences. The moves for this song are hard, and having to think about choreography while singing makes me wonder if I'm doing it beautifully." When practicing with props for the performance, Thuan Nguyen also faced numerous difficulties, going through multiple practice sessions until his hands were blistered, just to achieve the desired result.

Ultimately, the remaining three performances concluded the Pursuit Round with the result that Nha Hop Luc, Nha My Man, and Nha Nguyen To failed to successfully pursue their opponents.

Second Round: Collaboration Match

Entering the second round, the Collaboration Match, the 6 Houses formed into two alliances: 

Alliance 1: Nha Nguyen To, Nha Benh Bong, and Nha Ruc Ro 

Alliance 2: Nha Quy Tu, Nha Hop Luc, and Nha My Man

Each Alliance would dispatch a representative from their Houses to collaborate in a joint performance for the second round. It’s Charles, Will, and K.O earned the trust of their members, representing Alliance 1 to perform the song Buon thi cu khoc di on stage. Moving to Alliance 2, Tung Mint expressed a desire to truly enjoy the feeling of standing on stage and singing like the brothers just once. This confession helped Anh Tai Tung Mint gain the support of the other members, granting him the opportunity. Following that, Hoang Ton and Dong Hung also secured the trust of Alliance 2.

Alliance 1: The song Buon thi cu khoc di

Buon thi cu khoc di was the song performed in this round by three members of Alliance 1: It’s Charles, Will, and K.O. While working with his brothers, K.O encountered difficulties as his health was affected from the previous round. He guiltily shared: "By the second day, which was the day I was supposed to go record with Will and It’s Charles, I couldn't make it because my illness got worse. I was very worried and felt guilty, wondering if I was dragging everyone down."

The stage for Buon thi cu khoc di was filled with emotion through the vocal harmony of the three pieces from Alliance 1: It’s Charles, Will, and K.O.

Understanding K.O's struggles, It’s Charles and Will proactively handed over the rap writing parts to him, allowing him more time to recover. K.O expressed his gratitude to the two members: "I felt a very high level of trust from Will and It’s Charles for me, and I cherish that deeply. I will do my absolute best to not let my brothers down."

When discussing the trust of the members, Will sent a special thanks to Leader Hoang Dung for encouraging and confidently nominating him for this round. Additionally, It’s Charles didn't forget to express his gratitude to the members of Nha Benh Bong: "Your trust gave me strength, and that is more priceless than anything else." The seamless collaboration of the three members helped Alliance 1 earn 2530 points.

Alliance 2: The song Xuan thi

Entering the second round of Performance 3, Tung Mint, Hoang Ton, and Dong Hung had to perform the song Xuan thi. As someone whose expertise lies in hip-hop and acting, Tung Mint couldn't avoid feeling pressure when standing next to the other two members, who possess extensive experience in vocals. He confided: "For Tung, the biggest pressure in this performance with the song Xuan thi was figuring out how I could confidently stand next to my two friends, who arguably have top tier vocals." He added: "If I don't do well, it doesn't just affect one House, it affects three. It’s like I’ve been handed an opportunity, and I truly have to do well."

Tung Mint poured his soul into the song, delivering a deeply emotional performance.

Hoang Ton knew how to bring novelty to the song by suggesting writing an extra rap verse. Discussing this creative input from Hoang Ton, Dong Hung said: "Ton writing a rap section like that helped make this version of Xuan thi distinct from previous covers."

After the Xuan thi performance on stage, Tung Mint moved the Anh Tai and the audience as he tearfully expressed: "I have to thank Dong Hung and Hoang Ton. These are two friends who guided me so much so that I could stand on this stage like a true singer. And there’s a truth that I consider any stage on Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai as if it were my very last stage. For me, this isn’t a competition; I can only say this is the most special and important moment of my life, in my entire 17 year career." Dong Hung also shared emotionally that he viewed both of them as family, and it was the truest emotions of each brother that forged the emotion for the entire song. After the round, Alliance 2 succeeded, receiving 2580 voting points from the audience.

Performance 3 Results

Closing Performance 3, the results were announced as follows:

Nha Benh Bong excellently topped the leaderboard in Performance 3, followed by Nha Ruc Ro in second place. This meant the members of these two Houses were safe. Additionally, It’s Charles became the Top Performer of the Performance Round based on the votes of the Anh Tai. Hoang Dung offered words of praise when talking about It’s Charles's victory: "It’s Charles truly deserves it! Dung and It’s Charles have known each other for a very long time. Sometimes the audience forgets that It’s Charles contributes a lot, and often he chooses to contribute very silently, just supporting the brothers in background tasks and rarely making many appearances."

The remaining four Houses Nha Nguyen To, Nha Quy Tu, Nha Hop Luc, and Nha My Man each had to have one member say goodbye. Following the internal struggle of each member, as they could only choose to protect 2 out of the 3 people with the lowest Firepower scores in each House, Performance 3 of Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai 2026 ultimately witnessed a regretful farewell among the members with 4 Anh Tai: Phung Minh Cuong, Neko Le, Nguyen Van Chung, and Dai Nghia.

And I have also achieved everything that was left unfinished in the 2024 season. Therefore, I think ending the journey here is a beautiful thing."

Dai Nghia also sent a message to Ha An Huy that he didn't need to feel guilty or regretful because Huy had done an excellent job in his role as a Leader.
